Exercise Benefits
What are some Exercise Benefits?
Unfortunately the last couple of decades have seen less and less exercise and more just waiting to be entertained. We are rapidly becoming a nation and a world of obese people. Not only is it in the news, but just about everywhere you go in public you are surrounded by overweight people.
When I was a child growing up our days were spent outdoors. Granted this was almost 50 years ago. Running, jumping, riding bike, playing games and exploring from dusk to dawn. We were disappointed when we had to wash up and come in for lunch.
Exercise benefits our health.
When we were kids all we were doing was having fun. Having fun and getting all the great exercise benefits is a great combination. Today kids are watching television and playing video games. Its really not their fault. The reason that I say that is because the parents have a say in this matter.
Its much easier for a parent to let a child be entertained by technology than to take the time to interact and get them involved in an activity that will use some of their energy. Parents take your boy or girl outdoors and get some exercise benefits. Play catch, basketball or invest in a trampoline. The possibilities are endless. If you have enough kids, have a softball game and make sure to get your spouse involved also.
Now that my kids have grown I know that I could have spent a lot more quality time with them. These are times that you will enjoy and will be very pleasant memories not only for you, but for your children as well.
Exercise benefits our disposition.
When we get exercise not only do we feel better, we also feel better about ourselves. We know that exercise is not a waste of time like many things are. Along with eating right exercise benefits will keep us going into our golden years. Don’t take the lazy way out and ask your doctor for help in losing weight.
Now that I have reached middle age I have some issues that are creeping up on me. My blood pressure and cholesterol are a little high and I have tested pre-diabetic a couple of times. I am on a mild blood pressure pill, but I do not want any more prescription drugs in my life. So I’m trying to make up for past mistakes by watching my diet and getting exercises benefits. So far it has worked and I hope to get off of the blood pressure medication at some point.
If you haven’t exercised in the past or if it has been some time, take it slow at first. Check with your doctor for their recommendations. Walking is a fantastic exercise. Any type of exercise that gets you moving such as aerobic exercise is good for you and fun. For me it works best to do my exercises early in the day and when I’m done I feel absolutely fantastic the whole day. Mentally I know that time was very constructive and I enjoy all the exercise benefits for the rest of the day.
